Zeiss – Data Visualization
Role: UX/UI Design, Art Direction, Infographics
Team: 2 Project Managers, 4 Programmers | in cooperation with Panama agency
Sector: Optical Systems, Realtime Displays
Scope: 4 Months, Jan – Apr 2014
Overview & Briefing
The task at hand involved creating an engaging data presentation for the foyer of the new Zeiss-Forum, utilizing four large 4K displays visible from a distance.
The audience for the animated infographics and charts included Zeiss employees, museum visitors, and companies renting event rooms. The challenge was to ensure that the data modules could be flexibly combined to meet the specific requirements of different events in the conference center.
Creating Relevance
The design solution aimed at ensuring that the displayed data always resonated with the ongoing event. Through intuitive iPad controls, users could seamlessly curate and tailor the content blocks on the 4K displays, maintaining relevance and engagement at all times.
Crafting an Immersive Experience
To enhance user engagement, the system allowed visitors to feature their own tweets live in the Twitter stream using the hashtag #Zeiss. This interactive element not only added a dynamic and real-time feel to the display but also encouraged active participation from the community during events.
Solution
In conclusion, our dynamic and interactive data visualization is operated with an iPad and successfully addressed the diverse needs of Zeiss's audience, providing versatile modules for tailored content display.
By incorporating user-generated content through social media integration, the Zeiss-Forum foyer became an immersive experience, fostering engagement among employees and visitors alike.
